The Asian Cup could be over for South Korean midfielder Lee Chung Yong, who has suffered a hairline fracture to his right tibia.
Lee is set to be out for three weeks but has not yet been officially ruled out of the tournament, the Yonhap agency reported Tuesday, quoting South Korean Football Association officials. However, with the final of the competition less than three weeks away on January 31, a return for Lee seems unlikely. Lee previously suffered a double leg break but this latest setback is unrelated to his previous injury. South Korea are second in Group A and face Kuwait in Canberra on Tuesday. Group leaders Australia play Oman in Sydney. |
